Meibography
Using the Oculus Keratograph 5M, we perform detailed meibomian gland imaging, the only in-clinic technique that allows us to directly assess the health and structure of these vital oil-producing glands. Advanced infrared technology enables clear visualisation of the glands without interference from surrounding eyelid tissues.
Each eye typically contains 20–30 glands in the lower eyelid and 30–40 glands in the upper eyelid. This imaging allows us to determine whether the glands are healthy, dilated, shortened, or atrophied, changes that commonly occur with chronic blockage and meibomian gland dysfunction.
